About Lymington

Lymington is a beautiful Georgian market town sandwiched between the New Forest and the Solent, and is one of the most popular yachting destinations on the South Coast. A short walk from our offices in Lymington Yacht Haven, heading east along the sea wall, brings you past the 1833 Sea Water Baths to Lymington’s two main yacht clubs, the Royal Lymington Yacht Club and the Lyminton Town Yacht Club.

A slightly longer wander takes you past the bandstand, along the river towards the town itself, past Berthon Boatyard, Force 4 Chandlery and Yachmail Chandler (the latter situated on the main Town Quay).

Every Saturday brings a bustling market to the High Street and there are a plethora of great pubs and restaurants to patronise.

As a boating base, Lymington is beautifully positioned. A quick blast across to Yarmouth on the Isle of Wight; and a slightly longer blast takes you to the picturesque Beaulieu River and Bucklers Hard to the east, beyond which lies Southampton, Cowes, Portsmouth, Chichester and beyond. A hike to the west will take you through the Hurst Narrows towards Christchurch, Bournemouth and Poole. Alternatively, on a clear day you could strike out south for Cherbourg or Guernsey within about four hours.
